A thank you from our Founder, Lexie.

As I sit and reflect on the first full year of podcasting, I would like to thank every guest who has so graciously agreed to appear on our show (guests who have already appeared are in bold, above). I am forever grateful that you agreed to share some of your research/work/projects with me, and also talk about yourselves as people. Part of making Classics and the ancient world relevant and relatable has always been to present the “real” people who make the whole thing go. I am incredibly honoured to have the chance to engage in conversations with some of the most brilliant people in the world. I hope that our paths might cross again in the future, and I can’t wait to hear about the successes of all of your endeavours.

Team, what is there left to say? You are the best friends & partners I could have ever asked for. I am fiercely proud of each one of you and I love you all more than you could ever know. I may not always say it, but I believe that I am where I am today because of your love, encouragement, and above all, your patience. When I asked you to join me in this adventure last year, I didn’t know what would happen. But one year and over 8,000 downloads later, I am astonished at what you’ve helped me build. I am so excited to see you all grow and take on more exciting challenges in our second year and I am so grateful that I get to be in the front row cheering you on.

And finally, I want to thank everyone who has tuned into our show, whether you’ve listened to one episode or all of them. I have been floored by the level of interest you’ve had in such a small field. From day one, I have been clear in my intention to bring the ancient world and those who are influenced by it out of the shadows and educate people on why the humanities are invaluable. Because of you, our dedicated listeners, you’ve helped turn a recent college grad with something to say about the state of academia into a more polished and effective advocate for the humanities and public outreach. I can’t wait for you all to see and hear some truly inspiring new content in Year 2. Thank you for sticking with us. I hope you enjoy the new projects we have in store.

Sincerely,

Lexie Henning Founder/ CEO
