Who We Are
The Ozymandias Project is a 501c3 non-profit that was founded by Lexie Henning and Daniel Maday in August 2020. The Ozymandias Project is run by a fearsome foursome that includes Lexie Henning, Daniel Maday, Hadley Leasman, and Chelsea Bilek. Find out more about our team here!
Our Mission
The Ozymandias Project’s mission is to connect modern societies to ancient worlds by facilitating conversations about the ancient world through the lens of contemporary storytelling and to improve and expand accessibility to information about the ancient world and the people who are influenced by it.
What We Do
Some of The Ozymandias Project’s ongoing projects include:
Ancient Office Hours podcast:
On the Ancient Office Hours podcast, we speak with thought leaders from academia and the entertainment industry. Our co-founder and host, Lexie Henning, a Classicist with expertise in Ancient Greece, engages in thoughtful discussions with her guests focused on exploring the ancient world through the lens of contemporary storytelling and examines the practical applicability of a degree in ancient studies in modern society.
The Reading Party Podcast:
Join Megan and Lexie (with tea and snacks, of course!) as they read and watch books, films, and TV shows set in the ancient world and dissect every aspect of them. This dynamic duo will try to cover everything from popular films, like the Brad Pitt Troy, to up and coming books like Wrath Goddess Sing. Whether you’ve read them, seen them, or never even heard of them, join us every week as we spill the tea on a ton of ancient stories!
Archaeogaming:
Through our Archaeogaming program, we introduce audiences to a game-based learning model and are currently designing custom Archaeogaming modules for classroom usage. Find out more here!

Pnyx:
Pnyx is our digital magazine that seeks to publish original work from people with academic and non-academic backgrounds pertaining to the ancient world. We welcome submissions on archaeogaming, fiction writing, opinions and responses to papers and books, original artwork, music, videos, poems, and more. This publication is the place for people to share their thoughts in a field they may not be a part of. Find out more here!

Hitpoints & History:
The Ozymandias Project and Digital Hammurabi have joined together to create Hitpoints & History, an interactive, virtual archaeogaming conference connecting academics, professionals, and gamers - regardless of character level! We explore the open world of archaeogaming through livestreams, workshops, and collaborative gaming events. Hitpoints & History is an ambitious quest to broaden the field and make some friends along the way. Find out more here!

Coaching and Consulting:
We offer consulting services for creating and customizing lesson plans/curricula related to Classics and the ancient studies for students from middle school to collegiate levels and in public school settings to Ivy league settings. We can also provide subject matter expertise for media projects (movies, TV, video games, etc.), and coaching for students, instructors, and professionals interested in learning more about Classics and the other ancient disciplines.
