Dr. Sturt Manning

Episode 59: Dr. Sturt Manning

Sturt Manning is currently Distinguished Professor of Arts and Sciences in Classics and Director, Cornell Tree-Ring Laboratory, at Cornell University, USA. He is also at present an Adjunct Professor at the Cyprus Institute – Science and Technology in Archaeology and Culture Research Center (STARC). Sturt held previous posts at the University of Toronto, Canada, and the University of Reading, UK. His research interests focus on Mediterranean archaeology (especially the Aegean, Cyprus and eastern Mediterranean), and archaeological science (especially dendrochronology, radiocarbon, and climate applied in several regions). He is a co-director of the Kalavasos and Maroni Built Environments (KAMBE) Project, and co-director of a project in collaboration with the Cyprus Institute on Medieval Monuments and Wooden Cultural Heritage on Cyprus: Building History with Tree-Rings.
