Dr. Nandini Pandey

Episode 57: Dr. Nandini Pandey

Nandini Pandey is an associate professor of Classics at Johns Hopkins University with degrees from Swarthmore, Oxford, Cambridge, and UC Berkeley. She welcomes undergraduate and graduate students working on any aspect of Latin literature, Roman culture, classical reception, or the invention of race. Following her prize-winning first book, The Poetics of Power in Augustan Rome: Latin Poetic Responses to Early Imperial Iconography (Cambridge 2018), she is working on a second project about Roman diversity for Princeton and a third on applied classics for Yale. She writes often for scholarly and broader audiences, notably from 2017-2020 for Eidolon, and advocates for a more socially relevant, inclusive, and supportive academy. Follow her @global_classics.
