Dr. David Schenker

David Schenker has been at the University of Missouri since 1991, teaching just about every Greek course on the books, and a few of the Latin ones. He previously served as department chair for 9 years and he is currently the director of undergraduate studies. His research interests have shifted recently from a fairly traditional focus on Greek literature of the 5th and 4th centuries to an interest in reception of Greek literature, mostly drama and mostly in Africa and the African diaspora. He has won several teaching awards, in part thanks to the influence of his wife, now a retired 4th grade teacher.
